Kodewerk

Web Design Brief

After many years running a successful niche Java™ consulting business from a blog, we were approached to create a brand identity and website for Kodewerk to take them to the next level. As they specialized in performance testing and speed-tuning applications, the brief was to build the fastest loading website possible and get across the idea that Kodewerk = high performance.

Result and Response of Redesign

We started with using a speedometer as the inspiration for the logo design, which was adapted for the main ‘value proposition’ graphic on the homepage. We then set about building the site using HMTL5, and from the first draft, through each revision, we were finding ways to reduce the loading times. The result was a great looking website, and (easily) the quickest loading site we’ve ever built scoring 88/100 on Google’s Pagespeed Test and an “A” Grade on Yahoo’s YSlow browser tool. Google and users both value speed. So ultimately, it meant the client, visitors and search engines were happy with the redesign!

Project Summary

New Branding and website redesign with fast page load time as the the main objective. Built using the latest HTML5 and CSS3 libraries for the front end design.
