Web Design Process
By now you hopefully understand how passionate we are about adding VALUE. Our design process is our method that helps ensure we improve a business every time we develop a website. This overview illustrates the main stages of development, giving you an idea of how we like to work and what to expect when working with us.
1. Discovery Phase
We hope you like questions! The discovery phase is about who you are and where you want to go. Typically we start with a web design brief and then follow that up with at least one detailed discussion. For large scale or complex projects we’ll also need a detailed specification of features and functionality.
2. Planning & Proposal
We take your design brief and everything we’ve learned from our meetings to supply you with a detailed proposal with costs, timescales and a plan of action. Once you agree to go ahead we’ll take a deposit and set a start date to begin work.
3. Design
The fun part. We take your insight and our collective ideas and turn them into visual mock-ups. If we’re re-branding your company this is when we’ll design your logo. 4. Development
This is the most exciting stage, turning flat images into something interactive. This is where we concentrate on “user journeys” and refining the UX (user experience). Once we’re happy with the design features and functionality – we start on…
5. Content Creation
If you’ve supplied us with content ready to drag-and-drop – this step often gets incorporated into The Build phase. If however we’re responsible for copy writing and “packaging” your products and services – this is where we do most of the work. 6. Final Review, Sign-Off & Launch!
We review the completed website, check it on different devices and browsers before carrying out any last minute changes and bug-fixes until we’re happy to sign-off. We then settle up accounts and then deploy the site to the live servers – i.e. we launch your brand new website!
7. Ongoing Support
Once we’ve all stopped celebrating, we set about the important business of keeping your website up-to-date, backed-up and safe with our monthly support packages. These range from basic maintenance packages to combined service packages that include ongoing consultancy, design and development work and are designed to flexible and customized to fit your specific needs and budget.
